How it begins
It usually starts with one unexpected question.
Someone at the far end of the table knows half the answer. Someone else knows the other half, and doesn't realise it yet. A table that had been three separate conversations becomes one.
By the second hour nobody is keeping score in their head. They are leaning in, interrupting kindly, and telling each other things they have been carrying around for years without an excuse to say out loud.
